About Us

Who Are We

Linden opened Getting It Daily because he noticed there was a lack of support for beginners who didn’t immediately hire an expensive personal trainer to learn the basics of resistance training. He created a space to educate those starting their journey, meeting them where they’re at and having fun while doing it. Getting It Daily uses different forms of resistance training to help clients improve their overall athleticism. We believe everyone is an athlete and just needs help unlocking their potential.

Getting It Daily is one of few black-owned spaces in Rochester, as our community is faced with many challenges when it comes to living happier healthier lives in general. Our space is a brave space for all bodies to find the happiest version of themselves through physical activity and nutrition.

With community at the forefront, we believe that together we are more. We use our solidarity and core values to help others build solidarity amongst themselves using their unique gifts and talents.

Linden Dukes

Gym Owner

Personal/Small Group Training, Xtreme Hip Hop Step, and Bars & Bells

Linden’s fitness journey started when he shattered his wrist and didn’t find what he needed from physical therapy alone. He took his journey into his own hands working on strength and mobility at the gym, and went on to train for his first body building show. He’s been coaching others for over a decade, and holds certifications in PT (Physical Therapy), DSP (Dynamic Sports Performance), and XHH (Xtreme Hip Hop) Step. His favorite workout is juggling kettlebells – which he often shares in Bars & Bells!

Linden plans every workout to educate and inform his clients on the purpose of training, while empowering them to empower themselves. His goal is to teach functional movements to improve everyday life.

James Garfield

James "Garf" is a life-long athlete who has always enjoyed movement and fitness. Functional training with GID became a lifestyle for Garf over the last few years, and he now brings solid support, encouragement and energy to his functional training sessions. He aims to help clients understand that it’s always mind over matter. We do hard things to be able to do hard things!

Pressure makes diamonds, so when we come in and push each other forward, we are growing into higher capacity, resilience and perseverance.

Emily Roberts

Emily leads personal and small group training at Getting It Daily. She is kettlebell certified and provides a supportive, challenging and fun training experience for her clients. She hopes clients enjoy her customized approach to coaching, and leave feeling more informed about their bodies and functional movement.

A lifelong mover, Emily has enjoyed sports, dance and playful movement her whole life. She originally came to Getting It Daily for the step class, and stayed for the community, supportive atmosphere and amazing results!
